So, what exactly is this whole blogging thing about anyway? I have no idea what I'm doing, let alone what I'm doing here, but I decided to give it a shot. Here's the story:
After discovering a certain College Prep blog a couple of weeks ago, I fell in love with Carly (the College Prepster) and learned a lot about blogging in general. I explored (and became obsessed) with that blog and found a few others... Okay, four or five others, that I am now hooked on. The whole process fascinates me and so I got the idea last night to start my own.
Now, my life is hardly as interesting as either the College Prepster or the Jewish Girl in WASP's Clothing, so I figured that I could use this as merely a way to rant and vent and things of that nature. Almost a diary or journal in nature, I refuse to share it with the world outside of my bubble. I reasoned to myself that it would be an experiment of sorts, just to see what this whole blogging thing is all about.
This year did not start out the way I had planned, so needless to say, I'm a bit frustrated. (I'll hopefully get into the why later on, as I'm in need of a serious rant.) I envision this blog as a way to express those thoughts and feelings in a format that a.) is ridiculously hard to find, and b.) doesn't cause carpal tunnel like writing long entries in a traditional journal or diary.
On that note, my English teacher makes us do weekly journal entries, but they're usually useless like, "You're forced to leave your home, friends, family and pets forever. However, you're allowed to bring three of your current possessions with you. What three things would you take with you and why?" And I hate them. Because really, when you've had a bad day and you need to just let everything out, the last thing you want to write about is your cell phone, a photo album and your lucky socks. Am I right?
Anyway, that's the story. Until next time, then!
