To VV, or not to VV; that is the question.
Throughout my recent adventures with "preppy bloggers" one of the brands I came across the most was Vineyard Vines. I checked out their website for the first time, and my initial thought was "Yay, preppy clothing! Hooray whales!", but then my eye caught the place where they tell you how much things cost... WOW. I seriously almost fell off my chair.
I mean, if you have that kind of money, I'm sure there are way worse things to spend it on. Obviously I've never owned any articles of VV clothing, so I can't attest to the quality of the items, but I'm sure it's superb. I was doing a little background reading on the company and they seem like they have a really neat dynamic, so that makes me want to give them a little of my money right off the bat.
But anyway, enough about me and my tightwad mindset, I want to showcase a few of my favorite pieces from Vineyard Vines. The thing I LOVE about what I've seen from them is that the pieces that they sell are classic and will never go out of style. I guess that's the point, but so many stores these days want you to spend the big bucks on trends that you won't be able to wear in a season or two. I appreciate the fact that they offer essentially timeless, most likely high quality pieces, even if they're a bit out of my everyday price range.
But without further ado, here they are, my "most likely to splurge on" Vineyard Vines picks:
Isn't this navy cord skirt adorable? So classic and simple. Maybe I can find a similar one somewhere else without the $80 price tag. |
I love the colors in this skirt, but I feel like it would be really unflattering on my [wide] hips. If I saw it in a store, I probably wouldn't even pick it up, but the College Prepster made some really cute Polyvore sets with it. Check them out here. |
Aren't the whales on this skirt precious? LOVE IT. |
I'm obsessed with these Collegiate Red cords, but I doubt they'd be long enough for me! |
Anyone else almost sold on the VV brand? I know I am! I may have to get someone to hold my next paycheck ransom, so I don't splurge on all of these things. That last skirt is on sale... Hmm.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday!
xoxo,
Bee
